I’ve been learning how to crochet for the last two or so years now. I was originally attracted to the craft by the often over the top cuteness of amigurumi (a crochet tradition started in Japan). Here are a few of the ones I’ve made so far. The patterns aren’t my own but I often like to customize them a bit for fun.
- TUX- for the linux lovers
- WAD OF TOFU- makes good pin cushoin
- Ultros- For those of us who remember FF3(us). He was the silliest game boss ever. こわいじゃないですよ。
- turtle-turtle
- This is his little cousin. On acid…? ;)
- Mr. Jellyfish- watch out. He stings.
- Mr. Chimp (alias: Frans)-I made this guy for the emotion and self lab I volunteered at last year at UBC. We were studying the expressions of chimps. Note the mohawk and the very big smile ;)
I plan to start designing my own soon. I’m getting a lot of inspiration from the Tokidoki brand bags. Basically make anything, be it a barrel of TNT, a milk carton or some cherries and stick a cute face on it and TA-DA. The only hard part of designing is documenting exactly what you did to get to the cute fuzzy finished product. Of course I will by posting any patterns for free so other crafties can have their fun with it too.
If there are any ravelry peeps reading this my alias on there is: Quizzicalmuffin
